Ways these Denver Broncos together with the malleable QB can stop that Kansas City Chiefs' rule.

NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes text commentary of the weekend matchups on various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary is available through select stations covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the NFL season , following recent talk about two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their perfect starts.

Striking in those games were the amount of infractions both committed. The Eagles did so at crucial times so they essentially beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this weekend.

However it was positive to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to overcome that deficit before lead three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, to win the game by four points.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They are first in goal-line defense, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They did not always rushing more than four defenders instead they might position two linebackers in the 'A' gap then drop them out and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, we said on a program that the Broncos could be the current year's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly then did a good job of building upon that.

Could Denver be this year's dark horses?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has excelled big and recent RB their rusher is a guy they believe in. He now ranks fifth in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).

It's impressive how the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because one can do a lot based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush and keeps you in favourable situations.

It's also benefited QB Bo Nix, who entered the NFL as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have the arm strength to throw all over, however they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional arm talent, which is different, plus he's so athletic.

His strengths include his movement, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as using varied release points to deliver throws as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to deliver that layered pass across the middle and past defenders.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got great poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He aims to evade a sack as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He possesses sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.

When you constantly run the ball it consumes the clock and makes the defence to stay in play extended periods, and if you've got a mobile QB the defence must cover the area vertically side to side. It can be draining.

The quarterback has bitten back at Payton on the sideline at times and it seems the coach likes that fire, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for him to coach a rookie QB who's kind of like play-dough. The coach can truly develop him how he wants to build it. I think it's a special experience for him.

Payton has won a championship and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. I think the achievements Denver are having on offence is mostly down to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB helps shape him what he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you during some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they strong enough to go against a top squad at its best? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. The key to do is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their strength, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad yet to win any game.

Ever since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the first team to go without a single takeaway through five games, which is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

After this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a manageable slate up to their break (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the division.

This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they face because the Broncos {beat|def
