English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the this year's Young Sports Star of the Year award.

These three athletes have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a national radio breakfast show.

The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.

The ceremony will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

His success continued - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Being nominated for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin came in second place in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
