Combatants laugh as they move on the back of a utility vehicle, speeding alongside a series of nine corpses and heading towards the sinking Sudan's sunset.

"Look at all this effort. Look at this act of mass destruction," a combatant cheers.

The fighter smiles as he points the video equipment on himself and his companion fighters, their paramilitary badges clearly shown: "They will all die this way."

The men are rejoicing over a mass killing that relief organizations believe resulted in the deaths of over thousands of individuals in the Sudan's city of el-Fasher last month.

A City Severed from the World

Following their control of the city under blockade for almost an extended period, from late summer the RSF advanced to consolidate its position and blockade the remaining residents.

Space-based imagery reveal that troops started to erect a massive earth barrier - a raised earthen wall - around the perimeter of the city, closing access routes and blocking relief supplies.

As the siege escalated, seventy-eight people were slain in an RSF strike on a mosque on September 19th, while the international organization said 53 more were murdered in drone and cannon strikes on a refugee settlement in fall.

Disturbing Footage Shows Weaponless People Executed

In the early morning on late October the RSF defeated the last army defenses and captured the primary base in the urban area, the main facility of the Army Division, as the government forces retreated.

Among the most horrific footage to surface and examined showed the results of a atrocity at a university building on the west of the community, where dozens corpses were observed strewn over the floor.

An older individual clad in a traditional garment was seated isolated amongst the bodies. The individual rotated to look as a militiaman carrying with a rifle proceeded along the stairs facing the individual. Raising his weapon, the gunman fired a one shot at the man, who fell to the ground still.

"How come is this one even living," one militiaman cried. "Shoot this one."

Orbital photography captured on 26 October seemed to confirm that killings were furthermore performed on the thoroughfares of the city, according to a report released by the academic research center.

An witness who provided testimony said they had witnessed "multiple of our relatives being killed - they were assembled in a specific area and each one killed."

RSF Officers Attempt to Conduct Reputation Management

In the days that came after the killings, paramilitary leader conceded that his fighters had perpetrated "atrocities" and said the incidents would be looked into.

Part of the apprehended was subsequent to a investigation detailing his killings. Meticulously orchestrated and edited footage shared on the RSF's official Telegram platform show him being led into a prison room at a jail on the perimeter of al-Fashir.

At the same time, the militia and associated social media profiles commenced trying to reframe the narrative.

Posts showing its fighters providing supplies to residents were disseminated by several users, while the militia's communications team shared multiple clips claiming to demonstrate the proper management of military captives.

Despite the social media initiative being used by the RSF, their actions in the city have sparked worldwide condemnation.
